Just got back from our weekend in Cincinnati. Everything went according to plan and we got a lot accomplished in the few days we had there. We met with our priest (again), got the tuxedo rentals squared away (my parents will buy mine, but most of the bridal party will be renting tuxes), began looking at invitations, registered for our fine china at Macy's and Annie went a tried on her gown. We also got some other errands done in between all that.
Unfortunately, it started to rain about an hour after we landed and kept raining until the next morning, which caused the Reds game to be cancelled. But it was just as well because sitting in a baseball game in the rain is not the best way to spend an evening. But I did get my usual helping of Skyline Chili, so all's well.
Now we're back and I am seriously considering bowing out of the Delaware 10-Miler tomorrow. I've been looking forward to this race, of course, but we've got some things to move tonight, plus I'll have to wake up around 4AM in order to get to Wilmington in time to pick up my race packet and warm up properly for the race. It's a tall order and obviously my fault for not really thinking about that when I signed up for the race and planned our trip to Cincinnati. We'll see, but it only cost me $30 to register for this race so it's not like I'd be missing the $80 National Half Marathon entry fee. I can just as easily get up a few hours later tomorrow morning and run 10 miles on my own and have a much better afternoon (which includes attending the Nationals game at Camden Yards!!).
