Waiting for Lunch

I'm sitting here at my desk listening to a meeting taking place in the conference room (which is called a "teaming area" in corporate parlance these days)waiting for it to begin so that it can end. This meeting got lunch delivered for it, which means that any leftovers become public property at its conclusion. While I've brought a sandwich today, per usual, I'd much prefer a deli sandwich and dessert instead. I can just leave my sandwich in the fridge and enjoy it tomorrow.

In the meantime, I'll drop a quick post about this morning's run. Last night I went against the grain and instead of setting my alarm for the latest possible time I could wake up and have enough time to run, I set it for 5 AM on the dot. I figured that if I started the process of hitting the snooze button earlier, I could end up getting up on time for once. And you know what? It totally worked. I hit the snooze button three times, which meant I got out of bed around 5:30 (8 minutes per snooze) and was able to take my time getting ready and was running by 5:55. I got back to the apartment before 7 and was able to make ti to work right on time. Perfect! Now we'll see how it goes tomorrow morning to see if this was just a fluke.

The run itself was very good. I sped up as I progressed (I think; I haven't loaded my time into the computer yet) and felt stronger at the end than at the beginning, which is a rare feeling. There were a good number of people out today as well, although the number increases dramatically around 6:30...before that, it's just the early risers out and about. I'll post my splits this evening when I get home and can get into Training Center.

Tomorrow is another 5 miles, followed by either spinning or some other cross training on Saturday and then I'll try another 10 miler on Sunday morning.

I'm starving now, so I think I will go ahead and eat my sandwich and then possibly get another sandwich after this meeting if I can. I have to eat before I pass out!
