Another Frustrating Wekeend

Through a combination of tiredness and business, another weekend has gone by without any runnign on my part. This weekend is Annie's opera at school and her parents are in town and mine are due into Baltimore in about an hour. Friday night I went to the opera to see her, so no running then. Saturday morning we drove her parents and brother out to Towson so they cold go to an Ohio State alumni association of MD party for the OSU-Michigan game. Kickoff was at noon and they wanted to get there early so we picked them up at 10:30 and didn't return until about 4 PM, after the gym had closed. Then we met them for dinner last night. So no running yesterday. I fully intended to get up this morning and go to the gym before today's festivities began. However, I was exhausted after a week of work and then non-stop family stuff. So I didn't get up until 10. I also hate running when I have a tight schedule. To do my 8 miles, I need a good 2 hours where I don't have to be anywhere or do anything afterwards so I can relax and shower, etc. I have found that running and then immediately running out to do some errand makes for a miserable day as my muscles have no chance to recover at all.

Plus, I have to meet my parents and Annie's parents at 12:30, which would have left only 30 minutes to get back, shower, change and get to the Inner Harbor. Suck. All this should be over by 6 PM tonight, which will be a relief to me. It's not that I don't like seeing our families, but they're exhausting.

As a result, this weekend has been a complete wash for running. I'd like to get some miles in tonight, but I seriously doubt that will happen. Tomorrow night we're going to a friend's recital, so no running tomorrow night either! Each day that passes that I have to put off running makes me more frustrated. But I think that Tuesday through Thursday of this week will be better for running (including Thursday with the Turkey Trot). Then I can take Friday off and run Saturday and Sunday and try to get back on the horse once and for all.
