Bait and Switch!

I had initially planned on doing my long run this morning because of having to pick up Annie from the airport tomorrow morning. However, several factors made me eventually change my mind again and revert back to the training schedule.
1. It was about 25 degrees when I woke up this morning. While I have running tights, base layers, etc, I still lack a good outer shell to wear during these frigid mornings.
2. I realized that I could pick her up tomorrow and park the car near the church she signs at and do my run from that starting point. Again, thank God for MapMyRun.com and my Garmin. I created the course I want to run and exported it into my Garmin for tomorrow, including two waypoints along the way (one for picking up a bottle of water or Gatorade, the other for a critical turn on my route).

So, today I did 60 minutes of cross training at the gym: 35 minutes on the stationary bike, 25 minutes on the recumbent. Nothing too exciting but it helped loosen up my ever-tight calf and hamstring.

On another note, WVU is currently dismantling UCONN in Morgantown. It got to the point where ABC cut away from that game to the Georgia v. Georgia Tech game. I think it's 59-14 or something at this point. So, unless they implode against Pitt next week, the chances of WVU playing for the National Championship are growing by the minute. When I was home on Thursday I saw a Santa hat that was gold and had the WVU insignia on it. If they go to the BCS Championship game, I am definitely buying it and wearing it to work on January 7th.
